On-line Reputation Management For Your Small
Business
On-line reputation management has become the most important aspect of
on-line marketing. You should incorporate this into your Internet marketing
strategy today by doing the things that I will suggest in this article. If
you are already doing these things, let this serve as a gentle reminder.
The fact is, anyone can go online and post anything about you or your
company on any forum, blog, or user-generated website. They can even do this
anonymously and you'll never know who is trying to ruin your reputation. The
statements these anonymous posters make about you or your small business do
not even need to be true. A lot of times, one comment can do more damage
than you could ever do yourself through lousy customer service. Let these
businesses serve as your example:

How Relationship Marketing
Can Help Your Business During Bad Economic Times
Can a bad economy put a dent in your sales? Sara, a colleague of mine,
thought so as she watched her sales decline during the last six months. Like
most of us, Sara has heard the news reports suggesting that we are in a
recession. She wondered if the reason her sales are down is the bad economy.
I asked if she had recently cut back on her advertising and marketing.
“Yes, I am pulling in the purse strings and limiting my expenses,” Sara
replied. I asked if she was meeting new people and developing relationships.
“No,” she admitted.
This could be part of the problem. History has shown us that businesses
often reduce—or completely stop—the dollars spent on marketing and
advertising during economic slowdowns.

The Art of Negotiation:
Five Basic Tactics For Doing Business in China
Eight centuries ago, the Chinese military strategist Sun Tzu wrote, “If you
know both yourself and your enemy, you can come out of hundreds of battles
without danger.” That ancient wisdom still holds true today even though our
opponents are more likely to be on the other side of a conference room table
than a battlefield. It is especially true of business negotiations. Although
not always adversarial, these engagements are often filled with potential
dangers for the unprepared.
So it is perhaps ironic that I, an American doing business in China, have
taken Sun Tzu’s message to heart and apply it regularly in my dealings with
his descendants. You, too, can become a master strategist in this regard,
and you can start by applying these basic tactics when negotiating with the
Chinese.
