Online Visits to Holiday eShopping Index Grow 43 Percent since Beginning of Season,
according to Nielsen//NetRatings

Toys/Video Games, Consumer Electronics and Jewelry Lead Fastest Growing Product
Categories this Year

Nielsen//NetRatings (Nasdaq: NTRT), a global leader in Internet media and market research, announced today that Web visits to the Holiday eShopping Index grew 43 percent between the last week in October and the week ending December 3rd, a four percentage point increase over the same week last year.

Top Shopping Days
Cyber Monday has already been bested for highest combined home and work traffic to the Index during the holiday season. That distinction now belongs to Wednesday, November 29th, with a unique audience of 30.3 million, an 18 percent increase over the same day a year ago. Cyber Monday is still the highest trafficked day from work, garnering 16.1 million unique visitors and growing seven percent over the previous year. The Sunday after Thanksgiving, November 26th, beat out Black Friday for the most visitors from home, increasing 20 percent over 2005 with a unique audience of 20.0 million.

Fastest Growing Product Categories
The fastest growing product category so far is Toys/Video Games, with online visits increasing 129 percent since the end of October (see Table 1). Consumer Electronics took the No. 2 spot, growing 101 percent, followed by Jewelry, which has increased 76 percent. Shopping Comparison Sites/Portals and Home & Garden rounded out the top five fastest growing product categories, increasing 75 and 59 percent, respectively.
